The Nor’easter is moving out, but left behind a trail of damage.

The winter storm warning has expired for most of the area. Currently it is only in effect for NJ. Our final snow calls did verify for points south of Doylestown. While areas to the north did not verify it was due to a last minute shift in the models. This was something that was not forecasted nor did anyone see coming. Along the i95 corridor we did see snowfall totals between 8-13″.  From about noon until 730pm fire crews, police and medics were busy responding to calls for wires, falls, accidents and so much more. Please use caution if you have to venture out this evening. Roads are closed all over the area due to wires and trees being down. Some wires are so low, you are hitting them with vehicles as you pass.

How much snow did you receive?

The heavy wet snow from today`s storm has accumulated on trees and power lines. The weight of the snow will lead to falling limbs in many areas, likely resulting in additional power outages overnight. Drivers should be alert for fallen trees, limbs, and power lines overnight. Heavy snow continues this evening, but will taper off over through 8 or 9 pm. Roads will be snow covered and visibility will be significantly reduced to one quarter of a mile. Winds will gust out of the northwest around 25 to 30 mph, with stronger gusts near the coasts. These gusty winds along with the heavy wet snow rapidly sticking to trees and power lines will result in tree limbs breaking or some trees becoming uprooted. This will result in additional power outages. Drivers should be alert for fallen trees, limbs, and power lines overnight.
